Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) is seeking applicants to fulfill positions for its ministerial nominees on the Council of Canadian Academies (CCA) Board of Directors. The CCA’s 12-member Board of Directors is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organization, including fulfillment of its mandate and oversight of its operations.

The CCA Board has a unique structure. Four directors are proposed by the federal Minister of Science and Sport, and then formally appointed by the Board. Each of the CCA’s three founding academies ― the Royal Society of Canada, Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, and Canadian Academy of Engineering ― nominates two directors. These six directors then nominate two additional directors from the general public.

Interested candidates must apply to the following email address: ic.cca_secretariat-secretariat_du_cac.ic@canada.ca by October 22, 2018. Candidates should provide a copy of their CV and a cover letter of no more than three pages briefly outlining how they meet the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, and personal attributes criteria.
