Weronika Zych

Senior Project Coordinator

Weronika Zych is a Senior Project Coordinator at the Council of Canadian Academies (CCA), responsible for assessment coordination, logistics, and planning.

Weronika holds a Master’s of Social Science, having graduated from the Ethnic Relations, Cultural Diversity and Integration Program at the University of Helsinki. Her interests in indigenous issues and national and cultural identities led to a thesis on the social dimensions of Sámi identity construction in Finnish national museums. While at the University of Helsinki, Weronika spent a semester at the University of York, United Kingdom, studying an MA in Social Research. Weronika also holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Hon.) in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa. Before joining the CCA, Weronika worked as a Policy and Research Analyst in the Community Operations and Implementation Branch at Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada.

Weronika has worked on the following CCA assessments: The Health Effects of Conducted Energy Weapons; 40 Priority Research Questions for Ocean Science in Canada; Ocean Science in Canada: Meeting the Challenge, Seizing the Opportunity; Improving Medicines for Children in Canada; Accessing Health and Health-Related Data in Canada; Commercial Marine Shipping Accidents: Understanding the Risks in Canada; Building on Canada’s Strengths in Regenerative Medicine; Older Canadians on the Move; and, Competing in a Global Innovation Economy: The Current State of R&D in Canada.
